HHBTM Records (US) and Soft Power Records (UK/Europe) will release the new album from London-trio Witching Waves, “Crystal Cafe”, on February 26. The album comes out on both LP, Cassette and Digital Download, and judging from the track they have shared with us, “Twister”, this will be something to look forward to.
In the press release, they are called a mix between The Cure and Sonic Youth, and that’s actually a quite precise description of their sound. Dark, rough, edgy and fuzzy, and still it has a very melodic pop-flavour. The beautiful, chiming guitar-melodies are almost as catchy as the powerful vocals on this one. I am pretty sure this band’s name will be on a lot of music fans’ lips in 2016.
