Bio: Watoo Watoo consists primarily of Pascale & Michaël, who live in Bordeaux. Michaël usually records the songs on his computer, sometimes e-mails friends to help with the guitars, and then asks Pascale to add her lovely voice.

Over the years, Watoo Watoo have released 3 albums & 3 E.P.s on various labels throughout the world & have made appearances on an impressive number of compilations.

The music was strictly indie-pop in Watoo Watoo's early years, but now other influences have surfaced. «Felt and Serge Gainsbourg are still obsessions, but other influences are beginning to appear, under the shape of an old analog synth, a jazz chord…», says Michaël. Depending on the songs, the influences range from 60’s to 80’s pop. Warbling bass lines, crystal-clear guitars & vintage synths all have a good place in the band’s music.

Today, Watoo Watoo is back with a new record, titled «Une si longue attente». Among the 12 songs, the listener will notice references to Stereolab, the Young Marble Giants, Belle & Sebastian, or even the American TV shows which accompanied their childhood of flared-trousers and orange polo neck jerseys.

Some of the band’s inspirations: Astrud Gilberto, the Beatles, Belle & Sebastian, Bertrand Burgalat, Blur, Buzzcocks, Charles Trénet, the Cure, David Bowie, the Feelies, Felt, Iggy Pop, Julien Baer, the Kinks, 70s film scores, Luna, Pale Saints, Peter Astor, Serge Gainsbourg, Sergio Mendes, the Smiths, St Etienne, a modicum of jazz (Stan Getz, Keith Jarrett…), the Velvet Underground, the Wedding Present…
