Witching Waves at Noisey

If 2016 doesn’t quite feel real yet and, weighed down by the mountain of bougie cheeses you ate in December, you’re still struggling to get up in the morning, then good news! London noise-pop trio Witching Waves have come through with some new material that will shove your fingers into the sockets of the new year.

We’re premiering “Twister” – the first track from their forthcoming sophomore album Crystal Cafe, which comes out on February 26 through Soft Power Records (September Girls, The Spook School) in the UK and Happy Happy Birthday To Me Records (Joanna Gruesome, The Lovely Eggs) in the US – and it’s a perfect example of how to do post-punk well. With driving bass lines and revolving around a pop core, Witching Waves are a little like a more vocally melodic Ought or a richer-sounding Shopping – if solid gold references are what you need to press play below, which you totally should.

Check it out.
